A Tale of Two Extremes

Extremely high or extremely low. That is the only ways to go these days when choosing your summer sandals.

Flat gladiator sandals have been on the rise for the past three summers as late adopters have slowly come to love this funky footwear. But this summer, the flat sandal trend has morphed into a much more complex array of offerings to include comfy, cuffed flats, caged, intricate flats, colorful huaraches, bedazzled flip flops and of course the never dying gladiators. What I love about these sandals are they are, of course, comfortable, they can dress down a silk dress, dress up a pair of denim shorts and v-neck tee, and no matter what, give any outfit an effortless, edgy attitude.

From the bottom floor, the only place we have to go is up. And this summer, sandals have gone high ... very, VERY high. This winter's craze for platform booties and heels has translated into a plethora of summer selections from raffia wedged espadrilles, dominatrix platform stilettos, and the caged, sky-high platforms. I love these for one very simple, but very important, reason: they make your legs look incredible long and lean. There is no going wrong with that.
